We have spent some time over the past few weeks reading articles regarding integrating different subjects, in order to strengthen each other. We’ve seen this for centuries in books with illustrations; combining visual art with literacy. At Let’s Gogh Art we have taken this idea to another level. StoryArt by Let’s Gogh Art is a literacy education and creative enrichment program that allows young children to see a character from their favorite book come to life, right before their eyes!
StoryArt by Let’s Gogh Art incorporates two of our business pillars; letting the child create based on their vision and integrating art with other subjects. Stories are told by expert storytellers. If you don’t know the difference between someone reading a book and an expert storyteller, you will once you hear one of our expert storytellers breathe life into a story! After the story is finished, the program doesn’t stop there! A unique arts and crafts project incorporates the story and lets the child bring the character to life in their own unique way (which is a core standard of our business philosophy). Depending on the theme, different subjects may be introduced (math, science, dance, history, etc.).
We offer over 40 different StoryArt themes, ranging from workshops to birthday parties. We have found, that kids 3-6 love our StoryArt events! If using this in conjunction with a birthday party, we suggest that parents buy softcover books to hand out as a party favor, to go along with the theme. A StoryArt event offers the perfect combination of story, art activity and physical activity. Some of our more popular themes are:
- Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister
- We’re Going on a Bear Hunt By Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury
- Finklehopper Frog By Irene Livingston and Brian Lies
- A Color of His Own by Leo Lionni
Besides the benefit of entertainment and enhancing creativity, it has been praised to help with literacy enrichment and reading comprehension. We love that the Let’s Gogh Art business model is versatile and lets the business owner work to their strengths and enjoyment.
